Plumbing Reports

Reports on the plumbing or central heating system are often requested in conjunction with gas reports and in the past there has been overlap between these with no clear instructions as to precisely what is required and why. Sometimes the request is simply for providing a quotation for a necessary repair or upgrade (eg. replacing lead pipes).

There are no standard forms or formats for plumbing reports. For this reason we have developed our own version which we believe addresses the relevant points.

A (full) report on the plumbing system includes a visual inspection of the installation and an operation check. It should be noted that a plumbing report will check that the boiler works (but not if it is a solid fuel boiler which is not fired up), but would not normally include a detailed inspection or any tests on the boiler.
